Thanks. Judging from what I've seen of your work, it appears we're on the same page, or at least the same chapter. I find I have a very short attention span, and I tend to work very quickly. So focusing on light and dark, highlights and shadow, as opposed to the detail of photo-realism seems to work well for me. Photo-realism can be very cool, but I figure if I want something that looks like a photo, I could just take a photo. I would much rather have style and energy in my work which most photo-realism I've seen seems to lack. I guess my style has been gravitating more and more towards impressionism, which suits me well for Monet has always been one of my favorite painters.
